This Privacy Policy explains how DeckCam Inc., a Delaware corporation (“DeckCam”, “we”, “us”), collects and uses information when you visit deckcam.com, request a demo, or use the DeckCam service. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run our business and never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you request a demo or contact us, we collect the details you submit — typically your name, email address, organization or venue, and anything you write in your message.
- Account & service data. If your venue uses DeckCam, we process the account and configuration data needed to deliver the service. That use is governed by the service agreement between DeckCam and your organization.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers and content-delivery provider record standard request data (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) to operate the site securely and reliably.
Cookies & analytics
We use Google Tag Manager to load a small number of analytics tools that help us understand how the site is used — for example which pages visitors read and how they arrive. These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and process data such as your IP address and pages visited. We use this only in aggregate to improve the site; we don’t use it to identify you personally or to sell data. Google acts as our processor for this and may transfer data to the United States under lawful transfer mechanisms. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and where required we ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are set.
How we use it
- To respond to your demo request or enquiry and arrange a pilot.
- To provide, maintain, secure and improve the DeckCam service.
- To send you information you asked for or that relates to a service you use. We don’t send marketing email you didn’t ask for, and you can opt out of any list at any time.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business (for example email and hosting/infrastructure providers), and only as needed for them to perform that work; when the law requires it; or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition. Any provider handling personal data on our behalf is bound to protect it.
Retention
We keep demo-request and contact information for as long as needed to follow up and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it. Account and service data are retained for the life of the service agreement and any period required by law. You can ask us to delete information about you at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below and we’ll respond within the time the law allows.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to notify you and the authorities if a breach ever legally requires it.
International transfers
DeckCam is based in the United States and our providers may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms to keep it protected.
Children
DeckCam is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let affected customers know.
